The "Questan's" Experience

Hello Beautiful! I apologize for the delay in posting. I have been extremely busy, my PR career is picking up and doing well. I'm excited about applying my talent to the real world, it gives me a reason not to default my student loans. *Lol.*

One of the projects that I am working on, requires me to visit various Venues for events which, has been awesome because I get to meet different people and get a sense of what the Venue has to offer. Recently, a friend and I checked out this place called, "Questans," located on 114th and 8th Avenue in Harlem, New York. Questans, is a small lounge/restaurant and get this; it's next door to a corner store. I wouldn't expect to see a lounge next door to a corner store. It was a convenience store that sold everything from toilet tissue, hair gel, flour, white T-shirts, umbrella's, boxers, candles; this store literally had everything.

Once inside, the music was loud and the basketball game was playing on the flat screen televisions hanging on the wall. The music was so loud, that you could not hear yourself think. It was a urban scene, with fitted caps, baggy jeans, Ugg boots and Louis Vuitton bags. It's small inside with a long couch against the wall with tables and chairs. The bar is small and has about 10-12 chairs. When we sat at our table, it was dirty and the waitress had no interest in cleaning it. The Women at the front door walked passed and noticed that the table was dirty; she sprayed it with "Fabulouso," all purpose spray and wiped it with a paper towel.

My friend and I ordered Patron Margarita's, which were only 5 bucks. The waitress brought the drinks back to us in plastic cups. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Margarita in a plastic cup at lounge ? I said to the Waitress, "excuse me, is it possible that I can have a glass ?" She looked at me with this annoyed facial expression and said, "We don't have any." How could a lounge not have glasses ? I think that's tacky, but the drinks were good.

For dinner my friend ordered Buffalo wings and I ordered clams. I obviously forgot where I was because I ordered clams at a lounge, that serves drinks in plastic cups. When the food arrived, the clams were as big, as rocks. I almost vomited looking at them, I am not a fan of over-sized clams. After I ate the first one, I told the Waitress that I did not want them. My friend told that they were famous for their fried shrimps, I ordered them and was pleased. They were actually really good and well-seasoned.

Although the Waitress was annoyed with us, she did not put the clams on the check. On a scale of 1 to ten, Questans gets a 6 1/2. I liked the chic decor, good food/drinks, good music, but the customer service was average, the drinks were served in plastic cups, and they cleaned the table with Fabulouso while we sat at the table. I guess they tried, I'll order their fried shrimp for take-out and have a Margarita at home, in a glass with salt on the rim.

Peace,

A.
